Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Portfolio Manager with exceptional project management to lead the execution of product-related initiatives across our portfolio of leading Hispanic foods brands. Acting as both the project owner and hands-on manager, this role will drive projects from conception to market launch, ensuring alignment with brand strategies, consumer needs, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, streamline processes, and deliver multiple high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Ownership & Management:
- Serve as the primary project owner for all product-related projects, including innovation, product lifecycle management, cost savings, product modifications and quality improvement efforts.
- Develop, manage, and execute detailed project plans with clear timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (R&D, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Quality Assurance) to ensure seamless execution of product initiatives.
- Facilitate weekly project meetings, set functional accountability, and manage follow-ups.
- Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to drive successful project outcomes.
- Lead projects through the stage gate process, ensuring compliance with all required checkpoints and reviews.
- Deliver regular progress updates to senior leadership, highlighting key milestones, risks and resolutions.
- Foster strong relationships with cross-functional partners to drive project success.
- Act as a champion of project management best practices and provide hands-on support for teams across all functional areas.
- Create sales materials, product demos, and training resources to equip Sales and Customer Service teams for effective product promotion.
Portfolio management:
- Product Optimization: Continuously monitor product performance, consumer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement (e.g., ingredient adjustments, packaging changes, cost reduction).
- Product Enhancements: Drive product portfolio enhancements, including line extensions, variations and rationalization of underperforming SKUs.
- Master Data Management: Ensure accuracy and consistency in master data management, maintaining all updates to product records.
Strategic Insights:
- Consumer Insights: Collaborate with the Sales Insights Manager to gather and analyze consumer preferences, behaviors, and trends for data-driven decision making.
- Competitive Analysis: Regularly assess the competitive landscape to understand market positioning, pricing, and innovation trends among competitors.
- Portfolio Analysis: Provide strategic recommendations for optimizing the portfolios performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated expertise in project management skills including planning, execution, and risk mitigation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to influence and align cross-functional teams.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on identifying growth opportunities and improving processes.

- Strong understanding of the Hispanic market and cultural insights is highly desirable.
- Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in business, Marketing or related fields
- PMP certification or an MBA is a distinct advantage.
- 3-5 years of experience in product/portfolio management, preferably within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office setting with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
- Occasional travel to facilities or vendor sites for project oversight.
- Light physical activity, such as lifting materials (up to 20 lbs.) or setting up product displays.
