Description : Purpose :
The Material Handler operates a forklift, overhead crane, and pallet jack to move, locate, relocate, and stack items. The Material Handler is accountable for a vehicle's safe and efficient operation and may also be required to perform order-filling and checking duties.
Essential Functions :
1. Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate areas.
2. Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products using a forklift, overhead crane, or pallet jack. Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials neat, clean, and orderly. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
3. Manage the flow of containers and material into and out of the department
4. Perform Pickup and Deliveries to customers as required by utilizing a company van or flatbed truck
5. Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain inventory control and security. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations that promote safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
6. Assist in plant material handling needs, stocking, and removing from inventory
7. Verify components meet quality requirements from incoming inspection and / or from other departments
8. Fill in running production equipment and / or sorting of product
9. Perform necessary quality inspections and follow documented procedures
10. Assist with training as needed
11. Other duties as assigned
Requirements : Requirements
1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
2. Valid Drivers License
3. 1 years of experience with direct experience in a similar position
4. Familiarity with material handling equipment
5. Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
7. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
8. Analytical and problem-solving skills
9. Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
10. Must have excellent attendance as well as willingness and ability to work overtime
