What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Graphic Designer - River Cats position at Sacramento River Cats?
The River Cats are seeking a dynamic Jr. Graphic Designer with a background in visual storytelling and brand management. As a member of the River Cats marketing department, this coordinator will work to engage both existing and prospective fans while driving fandom and contributing to meeting our business goals. The ideal candidate will be imaginative, innovative and collaborative. They must be flexible with the ability to work at a fast pace while delivering high-quality creative that portrays a fun, engaging message.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and creation for all design initiatives, including marketing materials, advertising campaigns, digital and social, in-stadium signage, corporate partnership assets, merchandise materials, videoboard graphics, etc.
- Assist with actively overseeing and managing the River Cats brand in all design productions.
- Lead a wide variety of design projects from creative ideation to the finished product.
- Provide input, ideas and concepts toward the success of the overall marketing strategy.
- Lead on the coordination and direction of photoshoots for all marketing and merchandise needs.
- Prepare images for digital and print through color correction and photo retouching.
- Assist in filming and editing video content for multiple digital platforms including social, videoboard, digital advertising, etc.
- Provide compelling and correct deliverables to meet all deadlines.
- As needed, assist in photo/video capture on gamedays.
- Other design projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects
- Demonstrate a good eye for composition, creativity and color usage. Understand color theory, shape, space and typography.
- A good understanding of print production processes.
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritize workload, with on-time and high-quality delivery.
- Must possess strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Professional and positive attitude, ability to take direction and feedback from various sources.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and personalities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Must work well in a team environment.
Education and Experience:
- 2 years of working in an agency or professional sports team preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Compensation:
This position is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt role with an expected annual salary of $37,440 - $44,720. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
