What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse & E-Commerce Lead - River Cats position at Sacramento River Cats?
The Merchandise Warehouse & E-Commerce Lead will assist with receiving all packages delivered to the warehouse, merchandise store flips, and moving merchandise to and from offsite warehouses. To assist with E-Commerce, this role will fill orders, update inventory, and communicate with customers. The ideal candidate will be familiar with shipping and receiving of different types of merchandise, including retail store items such as hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other apparel. To be successful, this person will need to have an understanding of inventory management, logistics, and will need to be comfortable driving large moving trucks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track and document appropriately inventory transfers and orders for the On Deck Shop and ballpark supplies such as paper, office supplies, and break room supplies.
- Assist with receiving items being delivered to the ballpark for all non-food and beverage inventory and assist with ensuring those items are delivered to the appropriate department.
- Assist with merchandise flips for the On Deck Shop retail store every other week throughout the season, including pulling items from the off-site warehouse and delivering it to the ballpark or vice versa, and setting the store.
- Maintain merchandise inventory in appropriate levels at the ballpark and offsite warehouses in preparation for store flips and restocking items during the homestand.
- Work closely with Marketing to ensure promo codes are made available for sales on the website.
- Update inventory on the website to match on-hand inventory, remove sold out items, and add new items as they are made available to sell.
- Fill, pack, and ship orders within the communicated delivery timelines for all online orders.
- Manage email inboxes, responding to customer requests and questions.
- Resolve any complaints regarding online merchandise sales.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Previous experience or certification operating a forklift and pallet jack.
- Must be comfortable working in Outlook, Word, and Excel, and must be able to learn inventory and point of sale systems.
- Previous experience maintaining inventories and updating websites strongly preferred.
- Experience working with a large inventory, retail store and/or warehouse experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication, organization, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a team.
- Ability to work independently and ability to navigate high volume orders coming from multiple areas and ensure delivery is timely.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, nights, and overnight shifts throughout the season from April to October.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, some college or trade school preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years warehouse or retail stocking experience required. Applicants must be able to accurately conduct inventory counts, must be able to learn ordering systems, and must be able to learn to predict inventory needs.
- Knowledge of all relevant systems, including but not limited to; inventory management systems (Yellow Dog or similar), point of sale systems, and supply ordering sites (Staples or similar) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to bend, lift, twist, climb, walk up and down stairs, stoop and kneel.
- Must be able to work in incremental weather.
Compensation:
This is a seasonal, full-time non-exempt role. The expected base pay for this role is $18.50/hr. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
