Job Description:
Work with faculty and staff across all disciplines at the University to facilitate the pursuit and management of grant funded sponsored programs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide guidance and support to faculty, academic and professional staff to encourage successful grant applications in all disciplines
- Assist applicants with interpretation of agency guidelines, University policies, planning and development of proposals, grant writing, pre-award administration, and budget preparation
- Review, compile, and submit final grant application packages
- Research funding opportunities and disseminate information regarding grant opportunities to the appropriate departments or individuals
- Create and update grant records, track deadlines and maintain files using eRA resources
- Coordinate with external collaborators as needed for proposal development and submission
- Support initiatives and coordinate special training and development events related to grantseeking at SHU
- Assist in developing and maintaining webpages for Research & Sponsored Programs
- Produce and maintain regular and annual reports for RSP and assist with general analysis of data as it relates to grant activity and sponsored research programming for University leadership
- Provide administrative support, participate in the life of the University and handle special projects as needed
Requirements:
Deadline oriented position may require evening and weekend work as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NEEDED:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years' experience in a sponsored programs office, grant development and research administration, or equivalent experience
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills and proven ability to proofread and copyedit
- Knowledge of pre- and post-award processes and administration, grant budget preparation, as well as federal policies and regulations as related to sponsored programs
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, time management, and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a positive problem-solving approach to challenges and opportunities
- Highly motivated to successfully manage multiple priorities simultaneously while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Strong advocate for research and sponsored programs and passion for the educational mission of the University
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Professional, web publishing, Internet searches, electronic grant seeking and submission resources (i.e., Cayuse, Pivot, FDO, Grants.gov, Fastlane, etc.), experience with the OMB Uniform Guidance and willingness to learn and utilize emerging technology.
