Overview
Saddle Creek has a continued focus on developing and growing associates. There is an increased need for innovative and engaging learning and development solutions to support associates and the growth of the company. The Instructional Designer will play a vital role in the design of new learning experiences for our associates, including leaders at all levels, and be responsible for conducting needs assessments, designing the solution, managing the implementation, and measuring success. This role will also develop and manage leadership programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct training intakes, including needs assessments and recommendations, to make sure solutions address performance gaps, align with company values, and support business objectives
- Design and write engaging learning and development experiences
- Work with the content developer to bring the design to life
- Implement the project, including post-training support
- Measure the success of the learning or development event and make updates, as needed
- Manage projects to keep them on track and within scope
- Help implement and manage leadership development programs
- Keep up with trends and look for ways to use best practices when designing learning experiences
- Build relationships with subject matter experts, at all levels, throughout the design process
- Manage Saddle Creek leadership programs, including running the programs and making updates to them as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in instructional design, adult learning, psychology, technical writing, or related discipline
- In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles
- Experience with managing multiple projects at once
- Experience with the instructional design process in a corporate setting
- Desire to be part of a growing team and work with management to help strategically plan for the future
- Comfortable working with all levels within a company (from hourly associates to the CEO)
- Experience with training authoring tools (e.g., Articulate)
- Strong writing skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- 3 years of learning experience/instructional design experience (preferred)
- Ability to travel to the corporate office or other facilities, as needed
