Responsibilities
- Coordinate workload for associates by assigning work functions to all staff as necessary to meet the needs of our customers.
- Provide the highest quality service to our customers through efficient, cost effective, accurate and damage-free storage of products.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure departmental key performance indicators (KPI) are being met.
- Assist with the implementation and coordination of special projects such as or including: physical inventory and new accounts.
- Identify needs and make recommendations regarding department procedures and process changes.
- Ensure accurate inventory levels by maintaining accurate counts in the warehouse management system (WMS); Assist with inventory control issues and corrections.
- Cover for all warehouse functions and assist staff when help is required.
- Provide recommendations to the Warehouse Supervisor regarding employee performance, including discipline and promotions.
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in finding ways to recognize associates and motivate them in a positive and fun manner.
- Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or general education degree required.
- A minimum of two (1) years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with a warehouse management system (WMS).
- Forklift operator certificate and/or license required.
- Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office program (Word, Excel).
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to act with a sense of urgency to resolve issues with internal and external customers.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Excellent time management skills.
