Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Special Education, to provide assessment, consultation to parents and teachers, and direct treatment for eligible children with disabling conditions, complying with District administrative policies and state and federal laws and regulations. Knowledge of Laws governing special education; occupational therapy techniques commonly used with children with various disabling conditions; skeletal anatomy, kinesiology, and the basic pathology involved in neuromotor and/or orthopedic handicaps and the objectives of occupational therapy treatment; physical and psychological problems of various disabling conditions and sensitivity to the effect upon their families; normal growth and development of children; techniques used in the assessment and treatment of disabilities; educational and developmental needs of young children with specific disabilities; and applicable treatment modalities and theory for the pediatric population. Experience Minimum of one year of experience in occupational therapy with children with various disabilities, including experience in sensory motor integration and oral motor therapy. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy accredited by the American Medical Association.
