What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engagement Coordinator - Online Community position at Saddleback?
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Fresh Start strategy.
- Oversee engagement form process and volunteer teams in the church database. Care for the volunteers on spiritual issues and pastorally grow them.
- Oversee prayer team and expand prayer experiences. Care for the volunteers on spiritual issues and pastorally support their growth.
- Serve as the primary contact for care-specific requests, as well as conduct weekly calls/Zooms with the Online Community to address spiritual questions, crisis issues, conflicts, and general church inquiries.
- Serve as the point of contact for the baptism process.
Care strategy.
- Oversee online support groups in partnership with the Central Care Team. Care for the volunteers on spiritual issues and pastorally support their growth.
- Serve as the point of contact for the Celebrate Recovery Zoom group in collaboration with the Central CR Team, and expand the experience in the future by building out a volunteer team. Care for the volunteers on spiritual issues and pastorally support their growth.
- Launch the online counseling strategy in partnership with the Central Care Team.
Special Event strategy.
- Oversee quarterly events, including Zoom or Instagram Live experiences.
- Serve as the point person for communication plans and volunteer teams for special events.
Online Community & Extension Team duties.
- Host the online weekend service.
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
- Experience working remotely with volunteers and digital follow-up.
- Experience managing relationships (pastoral, team leadership, sales, etc.).
- Basic experience with Google Workspace preferred.
- Experience with social media/networking (Facebook, Instagram, Zoom).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Seminary degree or currently working towards it preferred.

Saddleback Church’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity, along with budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. Pay will be provided at a range of $24-$27 hourly. We will provide a pay rate that is within our salary structure and that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job.
