What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groups Coordinator - Online Community position at Saddleback?
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Groups strategy.
- Ensure contacts are logged on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Host quarterly centralized Zoom small groups, providing pastoral care during group meetings.
- Develop and lead a volunteer Community Leader team to care for small groups. Provide spiritual care for volunteers and support their pastoral growth.
- Oversee the small group interest form and manage the intake process.
- Assist in starting and onboarding new small groups.
- Handle care issues that arise within small groups, including spiritual questions, crisis issues, group conflicts, and general church inquiries.
Activate strategy.
- Oversee the Activate 1-4 volunteer teams and communication plan on a monthly basis. Care for the volunteers on spiritual issues and pastorally grow them.
- Process membership applications.
- Serve as the point person for Steps 1-4 forms in the church database.
Alpha strategy.
- Oversee bi-annual Alpha classes and communication plan.
- Develop a volunteer team to lead Alpha classes. Provide spiritual care for volunteers and support their growth.
- Serve as the point person for the completion of Alpha classes in the church database.
Online Community & Extension Team duties.
- Host the online weekend service.
- Follow up with new people and members to help them take their next step.
- Assist with special events.
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
- Experience remotely leading small groups, with the ability to manage multiple groups.
- Experience managing relationships (pastor, team leading, and/or sales etc.).
- Experience with social media and networking (Facebook, Instagram, Zoom).
- Basic experience with Google Workspace preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Seminary degree or currently working towards it preferred.

Saddleback Church’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity, along with budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. Pay will be provided at a range of $24-$27 hourly. We will provide a pay rate that is within our salary structure and that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job. A wage range posted is not a guarantee of a specific wage for a job offer.
