Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining financial records. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Duties
- Process and verify invoices for payment in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable activities.
- Assist with month-end closing processes, including reconciliations.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Ceridian for data entry and reporting.
- Support governmental accounting practices and adhere to SOX compliance requirements.
- Assist in the management of accounts receivable as needed.
- Provide support for payroll processing and HRIS functions as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and payroll systems (Ceridian is a plus).
- Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to perform journal entries accurately and efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
