POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Operations Coordinator & Compliance Officer leads and supports effective HR operations of Safe Harbor Center. He/she plays an integral role in the successful coordination and implementation of a broad scope of organizational functions including Human Resources, and Compliance. This position reports to the Office Manager and works collaboratively with internal teams, as well as external vendors and community stakeholders. A good fit for this position is proactive, organized, flexible, and passionate about social impact organizations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
HUMAN RESOURCES
· Collaborate with Program Directors to determine and understand the talent needs and create an effective search strategy to fill open positions and build candidate pipelines
· Evaluate Human Resource systems and policies and make recommendations to support Safe Harbor’s current and future goals
· Drive further enhancement to recruitment, interviewing & hiring practices, and interview stakeholders training across business units to increase recruiting productivity and quality
· Leads new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to appropriate people and complete onboarding.
· Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
· Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
· Create and implement effective onboarding plans
· Maintains and updates Employee Handbook, HR Policies, procedures, and employee records
· Responsible for compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Expected to provide guidance and recommendations to reduce or eliminate HR related risks
· Administering Relias Training platform
· Administering 401 K and benefits plans as well as serving as a backup for payroll
· Maintain HR systems and processes for the organization including accountability.
· Facilitate health and safety meetings.
COMPLIANCE
· Assist in ensuring Safe Harbor’s compliance with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), federal and grant regulations, policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the organization’s safety and security policies and procedures
· Monitors and oversees training(s) of staff related to policies and procedures and various regulatory requirements
· Facilitate, coordinate and attend quality record review meetings.
· Assist with coordinating CARF surveys to ensure accreditation
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of HR functions (pay, benefits, recruitment, training & development, etc)
· Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
· Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
· Strong ethics and reliability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc,)
- Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities under tight deadlines with an outcomes-oriented approach
- Personable, professional and confidential. Must have a mature work attitude, be reliable and resourceful
- Polished professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, volunteers, clients, and external constituents
- Commitment to accuracy, excellent attention to detail, highly efficient and conscientious about follow-up
- Ability to work both independently without close oversight and be a team player
· Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
WORKING CONDITIONS: Full-time 40 hours per week. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday; hours to be determined by the supervisor.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
