Position Summary:

Safe Haven Home Care, LLC, is seeking a compassionate, reliable Direct Support Professional to provide personalized care for a client requiring Homemaker Personal Care services. This role is essential in helping the client achieve their daily goals, enhance life skills, and maintain well-being in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Support individuals in maintaining their independence and promoting their overall well-being.
• Implement individualized care plans and follow specific protocols for residents with specialized needs, such as hospice care or working with people with autism.
• Ensure that residents' rights are respected and upheld at all times.
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
• Provide transportation and drive individuals to appointments or community outings.
• Lift and transfer residents as needed, following proper lifting techniques and using assistive devices when necessary.
• Engage in light to heavy cleaning as needed to maintain a clean environment, supporting clients who may be unable to focus on household upkeep.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including cleaning and sanitizing living areas.
• Accurately document and record all activities, to include UI's and MUI's.
• Maintain certifications to stay compliant with the State of Ohio's DODD's laws, policies, and regulations.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to pass a background check consistently and reliably.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Skills:

• Direct support experience or a background in caregiving is preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques is beneficial.
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals with disabilities, their families, and other staff members.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who may have challenging behaviors or communication difficulties.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
