Position Summary:
Safe Haven Home Care, LLC, is seeking a compassionate, reliable Direct Support Professional to provide personalized care for a client requiring Homemaker Personal Care services. This role is essential in helping the client achieve their daily goals, enhance life skills, and maintain well-being in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals in maintaining their independence and promoting their overall well-being.
- Implement individualized care plans and follow specific protocols for residents with specialized needs, such as hospice care or working with people with autism.
- Ensure that residents' rights are respected and upheld at all times.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
- Provide transportation and drive individuals to appointments or community outings.
- Lift and transfer residents as needed, following proper lifting techniques and using assistive devices when necessary.
- Engage in light to heavy cleaning as needed to maintain a clean environment, supporting clients who may be unable to focus on household upkeep.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including cleaning and sanitizing living areas.
- Accurately document and record all activities, to include UI's and MUI's.
- Maintain certifications to stay compliant with the State of Ohio's DODD's laws, policies, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Ability to pass a background check consistently and reliably.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Skills:
- Direct support experience or a background in caregiving is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals with disabilities, their families, and other staff members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who may have challenging behaviors or communication difficulties.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
