The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality standards and specifications throughout the manufacturing process. - Quality assurance: Evaluate product samples using various inspection techniques, such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other precision tools to detect defects, non-conformities, or deviations from quality requirements.
- Documentation and reporting: Record inspection results, measurements, and observations accurately and maintain comprehensive documentation. Generate reports summarizing findings, including any identified issues, and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.
- Process monitoring: Monitor manufacturing processes to identify potential quality issues or areas for improvement. Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Compliance and standards: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, quality control standards, and company procedures. Stay updated with the latest quality control methods and techniques to enhance inspection procedures.
- Root cause analysis: Investigate and analyze the root causes of quality issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify corrective and preventative actions. Recommend process improvements to minimize future defects.
- Training and guidance: Provide guidance and support to manufacturing personnel on quality control standards, inspection techniques, and quality assurance procedures. Conduct training sessions to enhance awareness and understanding of quality requirements.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, production supervisor, and other stakeholders to resolve quality-related concerns, provide feedback on product design or manufacturing processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Equipment maintenance: Ensure proper functioning and calibration of inspection equipment. Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or the need for maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent: additional technical or vocational training in quality control is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality control principles, techniques, and inspection methods.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
