We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Code Enforcement/Project Manager to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. Job Requirements

• Responds to and investigates allegations of violations of Municipal, Land Development and Property Maintenance Codes to determine validity of complaints and the appropriate course of action to mitigate issues.
• Notification of issues given in writing, by phone, in person and electronically.
• Schedules and performs systematic property maintenance inspections to maintain or achieve minimum property standards.
• Prepares records and reports pertaining to abatements, court actions, daily activities, enforcement actions and inspections.
• Compiles documentation for and issues summons.
• Compile and plan budgets, cost estimates, and other financial estimates
• Coordinate, plan, and manage schedules for contractors and subcontractors
• Develop construction project with architect, engineers, and trade workers
• Order and manage materials and equipment
• Provide internal reporting and projections for inventory
• Oversee and supervise construction project progress and provide reports on timeline, progress, and adjustments
• Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met
• Perform the tasks of a cost estimator
• Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Efficiently manage a team of employees across multiple projects
• Compiling and maintaining strict budgets
• Other Duties as assigned
  
  

Skills/Knowledge

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, citizens and elected officials; handle sensitive or stressful situations with tact and diplomacy
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to make presentations
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain City codes and site plans, maps and work plans
• Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project and experience with Project Management software preferred
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations
• Skilled reading and understanding construction documents and drawings
  
  

Education/Experience

• Knowledge or background in construction, building, or the trades strongly preferred
• Experience in enforcement, compliance-related work including investigating allegations, conducting research and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts preferred
• Experience in project management within construction administration, management and/or inspection preferred
• Experience budgeting, scheduling, negotiating, and controlling costs preferred
• ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
