Position Summary
The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aquatics operations at assigned locations and facilities.
Description of Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise operations of all assigned pools, activities, special events, and staff
- Ensure training requirements and appropriate certifications are met and held by all staff
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and manage all necessary aquatics staff
- Coordinate, implement, and participate in all required staff trainings and in-services
- Instruct and manage all Lifeguard Certification classes as needed
- Perform visits to all assigned pool locations as needed
- Manage the schedule of all aquatics staff in accordance with respective operational hours and special events
- Ensure proper staffing and lifeguard surveillance at all assigned locations
- Ensure enforcement of all rules and regulations
- Establish effective relationships with patrons and aquatics staff
- Perform lifeguarding or gate monitor duties as necessary
- Recognize and respond to all emergencies and provide needed care
- Maintain pool records and reports as required
- Assist with special projects and events
- Initiate tasks and process improvements to ensure the safety and satisfaction of pool patrons
- Deal tactfully and courteously with the public
- Oversee pool maintenance and chemicals of all assigned pools
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have basic computer knowledge
- Must have great customer service and communication skills
- Must be extremely reliable with reliable transportation
- Must be punctual, on time, friendly, and have a positive attitude
- Must maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Must have basic knowledge of pool chemicals and facility maintenance
Education and Certifications
- Must have current American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED
- Texas Driver’s License required
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO or AFO) and Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certification strongly preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
