What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager position at Safeguard Properties?
The FP&A Manager will leverage their strong analytical skills gained from accounting/tax accounting in order to build financial models, forecast future performance, identify trends, and provide strategic financial insights to leadership, while also utilizing accounting/tax knowledge to assess the implication of business decisions. Additionally, completes financial statements, ensures accuracy in preparing transactions, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards for month-end and year-end closing process. The person in this role will work closely with both Safeguard and our other more recently acquired entities.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Completes analysis and interpretation of financial and operating information obtained from financial statements and other data points in order to determine profitability, performance against budget, forecast and other matters affecting the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company.
Develops tools, reports, and dashboards to measure performance against key metrics and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
Sufficient accounting knowledge to properly complete division allocation / cost analysis.
Expertise in financial software and systems (e.g. Microsoft BC365 or equivalent)
Provide key support to projects, including new business and strategic initiatives.
Monitors operational financial accounting and reporting issues and collaborate with the AVP, Finance to determine the impact to the company.
Communicates effectively and build strong relationships throughout the organization.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Three years of accounting/tax accounting experience preferred. Additional two to three years of FP&A experience also preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax compliance procedures, and analytical/problem solving skills
