Safer Specialty Pharmacy is a new sterile/non-sterile compounding pharmacy committed to delivering high-quality, patient-specific medications in a 503A facility. Our team upholds the highest standards in sterile compounding, safety, and regulatory compliance to ensure excellence in patient care. We are looking for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team and assist in the preparation of compounded medications in a cleanroom environment.
Position Overview
The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for preparing sterile compounds, maintaining cleanroom compliance, and assisting pharmacists in batch preparation and quality control. This individual will work in accordance with USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and FDA regulations to ensure accuracy, sterility, and safety in all compounded products.
The ideal candidate has experience in sterile pharmaceutical compounding, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in compounding sterile medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintain cleanroom compliance and adhere to USP <797> and <800> protocols.
- Perform pre- and post-compounding operational checks to ensure accuracy and sterility.
- Maintain accurate records for compounded medications, batch logs, and controlled substances.
- Assist in inventory management of sterile compounding materials and supplies.
- Support quality assurance activities, including environmental monitoring and deviation reporting.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) investigations to enhance processes.
- Work closely with pharmacists and team members to improve workflow efficiency and patient safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in sterile compounding (503A or 503B experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of USP <797>, <800>, and <795> regulations.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment with aseptic technique.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, highly regulated setting.
- Strong commitment to safety, sterility, and compliance.
