Have you ever dreamed of managing a small community village located on a tropical island paradise? Then this may be what you are looking for! Safety Harbor is a small village community located on North Captiva Island in SW Florida, west of Ft Myers. We have 128 member homeowners, both resident and non-resident. North Captiva is accessible via a 20-minute boat or ferry ride via Pine Island. This unique community was built around the vision of preserving the island’s tropical nature and beauty as a peaceful paradise for its residents. We are seeking a general manager who is energetic, inspired, and experienced to carry this vision forward. The general manager will be responsible for supervising the services provided by and for our private island community. These services include a community dock system, private restaurant, community sewer and water system, landscaping, maintenance and housekeeping as well as pool, tennis courts, and road maintenance. The candidate would need to reside close to the island or on the island to closely supervise our permanent staff of 12 employees and provide support for our community. Although our island community is small, the breadth of services suggests the manager should have numerous skills to manage the diverse projects and services with our community. Required skills include facilities management, budgeting and finance, insurance policy procurement, project management, problem solving and people management. In addition, excellent communication skills are a must! The successful candidate must possess a Florida CAM license or be capable of obtaining it.
