What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Associate position at Safety Rail Company?
The Shipping Associate role involves working closely with warehouse personnel to maintain knowledge of their systems, following detailed instructions to accurately prep boxes for shipment, and working well with others to efficiently put orders together. This is a working position where the Shipping Associate will spend their day in the production facility to perform their duties.
What does the job entail?
• Taping boxes, placing labels, palletizing products, and loading merchandise according to department/company standards.
• Inspecting materials, products, containers, and manifests in the shipping process.
• Transporting products using hand carts, pallet jacks, etc., and handling all packages, including accepting and signing for deliveries from distributors.
• Organizing and planning outbound orders.
• Maintaining storeroom inventory and organization, including sorting materials according to characteristics such as size, type, style, and product code under FIFO (First-In-First-Out) procedures.
• Making labels for each order, properly banding, wrapping, and labeling finished pallets.
• Recycling materials and keeping the area clean.
• Pulling and staging orders, assisting with receiving and unloading incoming material, and assisting with inventory organization and counts.
• Monitoring shipping schedules and adjusting as needed to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Maintaining inventory levels and assisting with stock management to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
• Resolving shipping discrepancies and customer issues in a timely manner.
• Analyzing shipping data and preparing reports to identify trends and improve processes.
