The Bug Company, specializing in the production and distribution of live feeder insects, is excited to announce a vacancy for a Shipping Associate. This pivotal role offers an exceptional opportunity for driven individuals looking to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Our unique business ensures top-quality care and delivery of live products to a diverse customer base, including pet supply retailers, and pet enthusiasts across the country.
This full-time position is based in our main facility and is not eligible for remote work. As a Shipping Associate, you will join our dedicated team whose precision and commitment to excellence ensure our live insects are packaged and shipped under optimal conditions, reaching our customers in excellent health and ready for their roles in various ecosystems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Efficiently packing and preparing live insects for shipping while ensuring their health and safety during transport.
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas in accordance with company standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to report any issues or discrepancies in product quality
- Adhering to all company guidelines regarding packaging and shipping, including special handling instructions for sensitive products.
Requirements :
Ability to work in a dusty environment
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently
Ability to stand in place, squat, kneel, bend, and carry frequently
Ability to problem solve and follow directions
Ability to understand and speak English
Ability to count to 100 and simple math
Ability to use a box cutter and tape gun
Ability to perform duties with accuracy, care, and speed
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Must have attention to detail
Must be able to work directly with and handle live insects
Salary : Starting at $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Shift : Sunday - Thursday 8 : 30 am - 5 : 00 pm
