Summary:
The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in managing and supporting various HR functions, ensuring a seamless employee experience from onboarding to offboarding. This position will focus on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll processing, benefits administration, and administrative HR tasks while fostering a positive company culture and enhancing employee engagement.
How our HR Generalist spends their time:
- Oversee the onboarding process for employees and contractors, including Paylocity onboarding, new hire background checks, and drug tests;
- Manage recruitment efforts, including phone screening, offers, rejections, and job description management;
- Administer employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement plans, and other supplemental options);
- Assist with payroll processing;
- Manage HR communication channels, including phone and email;
- Process unemployment paperwork, employment verifications, and leave of absence paperwork;
- Facilitate termination conversations, manage the offboarding process, and conduct exit interviews;
- Launch and oversee employee performance reviews and assist with performance management processes;
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives and oversee the company Culture Club;
- Coordinate company-wide meetings and oversee communication, including the launch of employee surveys;
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and maintain and update the Employee Handbook;
- Coordinate minimal employee travel arrangements;
- Manage annual background checks and quarterly drug tests;
- Support legal coordination, address employee relations concerns, and provide HR support to a staff of approximately 50 people;
- Collaborate with leadership on HR process development and ensure continuous process improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
- 5 years of experience in HR, focusing on HR operations for small businesses;
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion;
- Experience with Paylocity, JazzHR, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus;
- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
