Full job description
Safford Veterinary Services , is seeking a full-time, experienced receptionist that is bilingual . We are looking for a self-motivated team player to join our friendly and highly accomplished staff. Our work environment is very upbeat, a small animal hospital with a high level of personal client interaction in our concierge practice.
In addition to a love for animals, the right person will have exceptional communication skills and be able to function effectively in a fast-moving work environment.
Responsibilities:
-Reception duties for in person, on phone and through email/digital communication
-Managing busy waiting room for pets and owners
-Keeping track of timing of appointments and the efficient flow of clients in and out of hospital
-Clinic time management
-Keep track of shipments in and out of clinic, inventory for reception desk and keeping track of and putting away stock of products
-Supporting the doctors in scheduling, timing, client needs and information
-Excellent follow up and completion of tasks as needed during the day, with priority for triaged medical cases with more urgent needs
-Answer questions appropriately, respond to owner's concerns, communicate with staff about animals' needs and obtain and relay relevant information between medical staff and clients
-Educate pet owners, proper animal care and treatment plans
-Manage payments, insurance claims, forms and client issues
-Know how to properly and kindly provide service and care to worried clients
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Clean rooms, help maintain equipment and instruments
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the veterinary facility
-Maintain excellent communication with all employees, medical staff, doctors
Skills:
- Excellent service ability: kindness, compassion and phone, email and in person communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and colleagues
-Ability to accept responsibility for client service care
- Proficient in appointment management, multitasking at reception desk
- Familiarity, passion and interest in animals,
-Familiarity with medical/veterinary terminology and laboratory procedures
- Attention to detail and accuracy in records, appointments, medications and history taking and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals
