- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies as well as safety data sheets.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to carry out simple instructions and recognize safety warnings.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Physical requires include the ability to stand, walk and bend continuously.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Must be a US citizen or green card holder.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, hallways, and common areas regularly using established practices and procedures.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Perform grounds duties (i.e., remove snow and/or ice from walkways, sweeps walkways, raises/lowers flag, reports any evidence of fire, illegal entry and theft of property, landscaping and grass cutting).
- Empty trash receptacles and recycle bins, ensuring proper disposal.
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools (such as auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers, etc.).
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning products as needed.
- Secure building when facilities are not in use by checking for unlocked doors and windows, reporting any unauthorized occupants and turning off lights.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
