Custodian

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team and ensure that our facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all employees and visitors. As a custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of our building. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks, ensuring that all areas are sanitized and organized, which contributes to a positive environment. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to follow all protocols regarding cleaning supplies and procedures. • High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies as well as safety data sheets.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to carry out simple instructions and recognize safety warnings.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Physical requires include the ability to stand, walk and bend continuously.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Must be a US citizen or green card holder.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, hallways, and common areas regularly using established practices and procedures.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Perform grounds duties (i.e., remove snow and/or ice from walkways, sweeps walkways, raises/lowers flag, reports any evidence of fire, illegal entry and theft of property, landscaping and grass cutting).
• Empty trash receptacles and recycle bins, ensuring proper disposal.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools (such as auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers, etc.).
• Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning products as needed.
• Secure building when facilities are not in use by checking for unlocked doors and windows, reporting any unauthorized occupants and turning off lights.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
