- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills are a must
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience preferably running machinery
- Strong technical skills and understanding of electrode manufacturing processes
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to perform precise measurements and detect small variances in the process that may affect product quality
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to comprehend written instructions and to clearly document and record the results of the work performed
- Experience as an electrode technician or similar role is preferred
- Must be able to wear a respirator (full time during equipment operation and setup)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Medically and physically capable to work in the presence of numerous chemicals and strong magnets
- Work environment will be in a dry room where cooled and low humidity air is constantly present
- This position will require standing for most of each day
- Lab-scale mix and coating preparation (Thinky mixes, K-bar coatings, and similar)
- Pilot-scale mix preparation
- Operation of pilot coating equipment (400mm Hirano coater)
- Pilot run documentation
- R&D calendering
- R&D slitting
- Calendering, so that we are not solely reliant on Charles Mitchell (who is very good, but very busy) to run the R&D calender.
- Slitting, to relieve the backlog of R&D requests that have to be coordinated through Production
