SAGE Dining Services® is seeking an Assistant Food Service Director of Catering with expertise in high-volume, high-end catering for a beautiful campus in Wallingford, CT.

This position requires a deep passion for service and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations. You will take great pride in the events we host! In addition to overseeing catering events, responsibilities may include ordering, inventory management, guest relations, production, sanitation, staffing, and menu planning.

What You'll Do

• Demonstrate exemplary customer service skills so that all guest experiences are exceptional.
• Guaranteeing that client catering expectations are met and exceeded through impeccable organization and flawless execution at every event.
• Recruit, hire and train a permanent and on-call catering team.
• Manage all billing of catering events.
• Aid in general location management as part of the SAGE management team.
• Develop strong client and guest relationships.
• Communicate clearly, professionally and effectively.
• Maintain all HACCP standards.
• Create a positive team environment.
• Follow and ensure SAGE standards and uphold SAGE mission.
  
  

What You'll Need

• Minimum three years hands-on catering experience.
• Knowledge of all things catering: set ups, menu process and client meetings.
• High energy, positive attitude and superior ethics.
• Candidate must be dynamic, outgoing, and friendly.
• Ability to plan and organize with proficiency.
• Proven familiarity with costing/billing and banquet event orders.
• Catering background a must, culinary background a plus.
• Outstanding guest service skills.
• Fluency in sanitation and safety standards.
• Superior computer skills with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Current ServSafe® certification, as well as local health department certification, where required.
