What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Peer Recovery Coach position at Sagebrush Recovery Services?
Sagebrush Recovery is dedicated to breaking barriers and fostering positive lifestyles for individuals overcoming substance abuse disorders, transitioning from incarceration, or emerging from homelessness. Each person receives comprehensive support, tools, resources and a supportive community tailored to their individual journey towards lifelong sobriety, wellness, and fulfillment. Recognizing the vital role of connection in recovery, we collaborate closely with multiple recovery organizations to offer clients top-tier wrap-around services. We believe in second chances and know that the path to recovery is smoother when traveled together.
We are currently seeking peer recovery coaches to support individuals in West Jeffco, Clear Creek, Gilpin and/or Park Counties. This is a 1099 position where the peer recovery coach will create and maintain their own schedule to effectively support their client caseload.

Principal Duties:
- Support Recovery Planning and Relapse Prevention: Assist individuals with creating recovery plans, preventing relapse, addressing housing needs, and pursuing education or employment opportunities.
- Assist with Resume Building and Job Search: Provide guidance on resume development and job search strategies to help clients achieve employment goals.
- Facilitate Access to Specialized Services: Ensure clients can connect with addiction specialists, trauma-informed therapists, DUI classes, or Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) as needed.
- Adopt a Nonjudgmental and Empathetic Approach: Listen with empathy and support clients in discovering their own solutions, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
- Promote Resource Sharing and Collaboration: Facilitate access to community resources such as food, clothing, transportation, recreation, medical care, insurance, housing, shelters, and employment opportunities.
- Teach Problem-Solving Techniques: Guide clients in developing problem-solving skills, overcoming fears, and combating negative self-talk.
- Complete Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes, documenting client progress and interactions.
- Demonstrate Effective Time Management and Multitasking Skills: Manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and Colorado state laws to protect client privacy and safeguard their health information.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of continuous sobriety
- Have lived experience of overcoming substance misuse
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with or in tandem with peer support networks

- Valid driver’s license and reliable AWD/4WD vehicle
- Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
- Must be a current Colorado resident & reside in and/or willing to commute to West Jeffco, Gilpin, Clear Creek and Park County.
