Job Title: Supply Chain Specialist

Job Summary The Supply Chain Specialist plays a critical role in optimizing our company's operations. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end supply chain process, from procurement and logistics to inventory management and distribution. The primary goal is to ensure the efficient and seamless flow of materials and products, meeting internal customer demands while minimizing costs and maximizing operational effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the technology owner by fully managing aspects of our supply chain software (e.g. Fiix, Procore, etc.).
- Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to secure optimal terms and pricing.
- Utilize Procore bidding tools to create bid packages, bidding schedules, and issue bid packages to potential vendors.
- Continue utilizing Procore to receive vendor proposals, conduct bid leveling analysis and create commitments for awarded vendors.
- Awarded vendor commitments will utilize internal corporate cost codes to detail vendor schedule of values to itemize scope, funding, and invoicing.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contracts, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and reduce stockouts or overstocks.
- Negotiate vendor agreements to optimize pricing and spares availability.
- Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and recommend appropriate action.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including arranging shipments, managing freight costs, and tracking delivery schedules.
- Work closely with carriers and freight forwarders to optimize delivery routes and transit times.
- Adjust inventory plans accordingly to meet changing demand patterns and seasonal fluctuations.
- Identify inefficiencies in the supply chain process and propose and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Streamline processes for order processing, procurement, and demand fulfillment to increase productivity and meet customer expectations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to supply chain operations.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE is required when indicated, desired otherwise.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus
- Proven experience as a Supply Chain Specialist or in a similar role, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of supply chain processes
- Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and demand forecasting
- Proficient in using supply chain management software and tools (e.g., Fiix, Procore, ERP systems, inventory management software, forecasting tools)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make informed decisions
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, shipping procedures, and customs clearance is a plus
- Professional certifications such as APICS (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or CSCMP are advantageous
Physical Demand
Field work will include work outside and exposed to the weather, high elevations, confined spaces, electrical components, both stationary and rotating equipment, manure and other agricultural wastes, gases and liquids that are compressed/pressurized, toxic, caustic, or acidic, and/or flammable, dust, exposure to high heat/cold weather, high winds, and high noise.

Work Environment
The duties of this job will include working both in an office environment and work outdoors in the weather year-round as well as inside industrial spaces with operating machinery. Exposure to high heat and high humidity as well as cold weather and high winds can be expected. This job also includes
potential exposure to high noise, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, acids and caustic chemicals, flammable and/or poisonous atmospheres, hot surfaces/equipment, cold surfaces/equipment, high vibrations, confined spaces, elevated working surfaces, vehicle traffic, and animal manure.
Compensation
Salary is paid on a bi-weekly basis and will be consummate with the value and experience the candidate brings to the role. In addition to base salary, compensation includes the option to participate in company sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance plans and in a retirement savings program as well as paid personal time off and holidays.
