About THIS OPPORTUNITY:
As an Estimator, you will work in a dynamic, challenging, and deadline-driven environment where quality and attention to detail are key and where you will be expected to produce accurate construction estimates and proposals for complex repipe & remodel projects for large high-rise and multi-family communities.
This Estimator role requires the demonstrated ability to support our diverse clients and projects in person across multiple locations. This role is intended to be a full-time exempt hybrid position, based in Alexandria Virginia, with 3-4 days on-site per week.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Successfully manage the day-to-day project needs and deliverables for your assigned project(s) to include hard bids, pre-construction, and budget and order-of-magnitude pricing, while multi-tasking and prioritizing project tasks
Develop scope of work details, produce accurate estimates (including performance of material take offs), and detailed proposals for plumbing, hydronic, fire-protection system replacements, and renovations in multi-family buildings
Maintain and implement standardized estimating software to streamline current estimating process and proposal writing
Maintain, foster, and develop productive relationships including with co-workers, other departments, clients, subcontractors, and vendors
Identify and implement process improvements, ensuring improved quality and deliverables, with appropriate documentation of new and enhanced procedures

Key Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience as a full-time estimator in a related field working both in an office environment and on job sites
Experience in significant roles with estimating projects ranging from $1- $100 Million
Advanced knowledge of related industry best practices and Code/Standard requirements
Demonstrated technical writing proficiency in producing detailed proposals and related communications internally, with clients, and other stakeholders
Demonstrated project management experience with challenging timelines and multiple projects
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and construction estimating and design software such as RSMeans or Quotesoft
High School degree or GED
Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
Must be able to travel occasionally for one to three-day periods nationwide
Must be based within commuting distance of Alexandria VA
PREFERRED CANDIDATES will also have one or all the following qualifications: a related bachelor’s degree; have achieved, or be in the process of achieving, a related Professional Certification; have MEP engineering drafting experience; be proficient in Spanish; have prior trades experience; and/or have prior related military or civil experience.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 annualized base pay based upon experience and qualifications
