Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Senior Count Room Manager, provide direct supervision, scheduling, evaluating, and training of Count Team Members. Supervise and participate in the collection, sorting, counting, and recording of gaming funds and the overall operation and maintenance of the Count Room and equipment.
Ensure compliance with gaming regulations, Minimum Internal Controls (MICs), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Inter-Departmental Policies (IDPs), internal controls, departmental and SECR policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Count Room Manager and Department Director in the successful operation of count operations, including assuring that guests have a favorable gaming experience.
- Obtains and demonstrates a thorough understanding of the tribal and federal regulations as it pertains to the drop and count process.
- Ensure protection of casino assets; maximize integrity by upholding cash handling policies and procedures identifying and reporting procedural errors/irregularities to the Senior Count Room Manager/Director and/or the appropriate department.
- Inputs cash and cash equivalent data and other financial data into assigned software and computer systems; assures accuracy of input data.
- Train and supervise team members in accordance with departmental and SECR policies, and internal controls.
- Monitor and review drop and count schedules to ensure that daily adequate staffing requirements are met as required by minimum internal controls.
- Verify the final count and drop proceeds as required by internal control standards.
- Investigate and determine the outcome of guest disputes, service issues, cash discrepancies.
- Ensure the safe transfer of counted funds to the main bank.
- Monitor and assist with fill procedures conducted on gaming machines, table games, kiosks, and any other gaming devices as directed.
- Maintain inventory and security protocols for all keys used for the drops and count according to internal control regulations.
- Assist with coordination of destruction of old gaming chips, SECR and SELC Cash Out Tickets (COT`s) and damaged keys no longer in use.
- Install and maintain locks on drop boxes, drop carts and count room security cabinets.
- Complete repairs and perform maintenance of equipment such as sports betting kiosks and table games boxes; submit maintenance work orders for repairs and modifications; maintain knowledge of equipment. (Count Team Supervisors who have obtained equipment certification will be responsible for the overall maintenance, repair of hardware and software components. The certified technician is also responsible for maintaining parts inventory for the specific equipment that he/she is certified for.)
- Ensure the end-of-month drops and audits are completed as required by minimum internal controls.
- Responsible for ensuring that supplies and equipment required for the daily drops and counts are available.
- Complete employee`s probationary and yearly performance reviews.
- Review timekeeping and attendance records, issue attendance points/occurrences when applicable.
- Complete necessary disciplinary actions and related supporting documentation for the Senior Manager to review in a timely manner including coaching and counseling team members.
- Review existing count procedures and suggest modifications to reflect current conditions.
- Assist Count Room Manager and Director with interviewing of potential team members, including conducting interviews in the absence of the Count Room Manager/Director.
- Display leadership qualities and the ability to serve both guests and team members.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
- Contact with upper management and team members within the department, other departments within the casino, vendors, and the general public. The purpose of this contact includes communication and maintaining internal and external guest service levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Two years count team or finance experience in a gaming enterprise or banking institution.
- Must be able to work various shifts.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate`s degree.
- One year in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience handling large amounts of cash.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of gaming devices and safety equipment.
- Knowledge of drop count and cage operations.
- Knowledge of basic accounting, math, and record-keeping practices and procedures.
- Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Skill in supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff.
- Ability to handle large amounts of money while using basic math skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to be detail-oriented.
- Ability to complete and pass Title 31 training and assessment.
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a professional manner.
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals.

Physical Demands:
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment and the handling and counting of money.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending and squatting.
- Frequent pushing and pulling of carts utilized for the drop and fill procedures.
- Independently lift up to 75 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino, and constant machine and crowd noise.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
