Summary

Heritage High School is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to lead the junior varsity girls' tennis program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tennis coaching, a passion for developing young athletes, and the ability to foster a positive team environment. This position plays a crucial role in mentoring student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, and enhancing their skills in the sport of tennis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the junior varsity girls' tennis team.
• Conduct regular practices and drills to improve players' skills, techniques, and overall performance.
• Organize and oversee team competitions.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
• Monitor and assess players' progress, providing feedback and guidance for improvement.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure alignment with the overall athletic program goals.
• Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and organized environment for practices and matches.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with coaching techniques and strategies.
• Uphold and promote the values and standards of Heritage High School and its athletic programs.
  
  

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience in tennis, preferably at the high school level.
• Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, strategies, and rules of play.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes and their families.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to fostering a positive team environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for practices and competitions.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• A background check will be required prior to employment.
• Passion for mentoring young athletes and promoting their personal and athletic development.
