Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Help lead the integration of a new manufacturing plant, product line and brand for Second Nature Brands
- Serve as Business Partner to Plant Director as well as Manufacturing Leadership team, including Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Logistics
- Responsible for Operations Finance at key manufacturing plant
- Assist in development and monitoring of inventory and cost accounting policies and controls
- Develop and update standard costs, including accurate annual allocation methods
- Analyze production variances, identify root causes, and make recommendations to management
- Analyze cycle count and physical inventory variances and make recommendations to management
- Provide cost modeling for business cases, including capital requests, new product development, and growth opportunities
- Participate in the S&OP process, providing input on product profitability, plant throughput, and financial impacts of business decisions
- Participate in forecast and budget processes, gathering input from operations and communicating changes to leadership
- Participate in month-end close, including freight accruals, excess and obsolete inventory reserves, purchase price variance analysis, monthly budget and forecast variance analysis
- Track and report plant performance on key KPIs, including throughput, schedule attainment, yield, scrap and labor efficiency
- Compile and deliver monthly Operations Period Review deck to operations leaders
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, planning, and analysis
- CPG / Food industry experience preferred
- Exposure to annual budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes
- Strong accounting, financial reporting, and financial statement analysis skills
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems and financial modeling
- Strong work ethic, judgement, diplomacy, and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Working knowledge of SAP and/or SAGE X3 a plus
Preferred Skills
- CPA or CMA
- Food manufacturing experience
