JOB TITLE: Uniform Operations Seamer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Uniform Seamer is responsible for assisting management and guests with all uniform related alteration needs. Primary functions include: customer service, fit and alter uniforms for employees, performing inventory related duties, and processing of new hires
JOB FOCUS:
Focus is on, but not limited to the following:
- Provide excellent service consistent with the property’s core service and brand standards
- Proactively greet, interact, and assist guests in a professional manner to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment
- Assist guests with uniform needs including the fitting of uniforms and performing alterations
- Perform alterations on various types of garments and fabrics including blazers, pants, shirts, dresses and other garments
- Process new hires and replacement uniforms
- Tag uniforms with RFID chips
- Assist in receiving and quality control procedures of new inventory
- Assist with processing and stocking uniform inventory
- Check uniforms in and out of repair status
- Respond and resolve complaints in a timely manner
- Execute approved special requests from management and other departments
- Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring that all items are displayed properly and in in an orderly fashion
- Perform alterations for VIP Hotel guests
- Assist with the pressing of guests’ garments
- Operate sewing equipment and tools
- Operate pressing/steaming equipment and tools
- Operate computer equipment including scanners and label printers
- Notify management of any problems that may impact or jeopardize the achievement of current and future departmental objectives
- Be knowledgeable of department and property goals
- Other related duties as necessary
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least six (6) months of Customer Service experience
- At least three (3) years of Seamer experience
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal forms
- A professional demeanor and attire is to be maintained at all times
- Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to working independently with little to no supervision
- Must be able to perform in a team environment
- Must have exceptional time management skills
- Must have a motivated and energetic personality
- Proven ability to resolve guest conflicts with ease or determine if management is needed in certain guest situations
- Must be at least 18 years old
