SAIC is looking for a Technical Writer II in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
- Developing high-quality documentation with minimal guidance that is coherent and easy to follow as well as complies with corresponding standard, style guide, and / or directive and meets the customers' and end users' needs. Documentation includes but is not limited to technical manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), curriculum, and other instructional and guidance documentation.
- Researching, collecting, analyzing, organizing, and preparing technical information and data.
- Editing technical documentation for format, accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to government specifications.
- Performing desktop publishing support (e.g., format and layout) for technical documentation.
- Creating and manipulating illustrations, graphics, charts, diagrams, etc. to be included in documentation.
- Conducting photoshoots, editing and manipulating photographs, and selecting photographs for usage within documents, curriculum, and graphic design projects.
- Capturing video and editing video as well as audio and voiceover(s).
- Creating and maintaining xml schema (i.e., templates, DTDs, EDDs, read / write rules, structure applications, and conversion tables) within Adobe FrameMaker.
- Scheduling, attending, and participating in project meetings, review meetings, and validation / verification events.
- Creating and maintaining trackers for developing, planning, and scheduling purposes.
- Maintaining records.
- Performing clerical / administrative duties as assigned such as file management and recording and distributing meeting minutes.
- Interfacing with technical writers, multimedia personnel, customers, and possible government team.
