Description
SAIC has a need for a Senior Systems Engineer to provide engineering support at Systems Simulation Software and Integration (S3I) to assist in developing a mission system for a fixed-wing platform and maturing the testing environment/SIL located onsite at Kellner Road near Huntsville Airport.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Candidate will assist in the integration and testing of hardware and software for evaluation and certification of modifications to commercial and military tactical avionics for Special Electronic Mission Aircraft (SEMA)
- In a team environment, the candidate will support the integration of commercial and military avionics hardware, test equipment, and software mission equipment components into existing aircraft configurations and future development
- Candidate will create test plans and procedures for Software Requirement Specifications (SRSs)
- Candidate will work in an AGILE environment
Qualifications
Required Education:
- BS degree and nine (9) years of experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
Required Skills:
- Solid system engineering experience in laboratory test/development environment
- Experience integrating COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) equipment with hardware
- Develop technical package (Schematics, drawings, bill of materials, etc.)
- Experience developing test plans and procedures
- Experience creating software and hardware requirements, design, interface and test documentation and analysis of test results
- Experience producing test reports
- Familiar with commercial and military tactical ground and aviation radios. Including PRC radios, ARC-210 gen 6, STTs, Link16
- Knowledge and experience with radio frequency (RF) co-site measurement and antenna placement on various ground planes including aircraft
- Direct experience with aviation and/or weapons hardware
- Demonstrated self-starter with strong interpersonal communications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge/Use of Microsoft Office Suite
Required Clearance:
- Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance
