We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Writer/Editor to join our talented team. The successful candidate will assist in creating, reviewing, and editing technical documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in all content while working closely with cross-functional teams.

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality documentation like user guides, API references, white papers, training materials, and release notes, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Strong understanding of the navigation systems being documented, including the technical features and functionalities.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and other team members to gather information, clarify requirements, and ensure documentation aligns with product development.
  • Define documentation scope, outlining project timelines, and managing the overall documentation process.
  • Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect product changes and new features.
  • Review and edit technical documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to style guides.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in technical documentation.
  • Conduct thorough research to gather accurate technical information.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior technical writers.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • BA degree in English, Journalism, or Technical Writing.
  • Three (3) years of experience in DoD technical writing, to include: writing technical documentation, procedures and guidelines for C4ISR systems or equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with content management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Security Clearance:
  • ship required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
    • Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.
