The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for, but not limited to performing functions related to cost and/or scheduling and assists in the preparation of Project Controls activities for project.

Responsibilities
- Defines project controls objective, including performance, cost and schedule objectives.
- Develops, tracks and maintains project schedules(s), and schedules performance on active projects.
- Manages resource and equipment schedules.
- Collects information from Subject Matter Experts, sequences work activities and makes logic links.
- Monitors milestone requirements and scheduling constraints.
- Reports any issues to Project Managers and facilitates and participates in coordination with Project Managers and System Matter Experts (SME) to develop a recovery strategy.
- Meets with Project Managers to provide status, evaluate critical path, and predictively assess project schedule.
- As necessary, meets with crews, superintendents, contractors, etc. to obtain project status updates.
- Conducts workshops with project team and contractors to develop plan recovery and adjustments.
- Creates project schedule narratives and reports.
- Analyzes scheduling change impact and performs what-if analysis.
- Assists with project execution and controls.
- Exercises independent and professional judgment in solving problems and coordinating issues as they relate to cost, coordination, and the schedule.
- Interacts with project managers, subcontractors and team partners in solving scheduling issues.
- Integrates business process requirements into project schedules.
- Adapts schedules to meet various project delivery methods or requirements: design build, design bid build, informal bid, material purchases, cash flow, resources, etc.
- Works closely with the entire project management team to identify and resolve schedule deviations and trends.
- Creates and works with Primavera 6 Reflections to support critical path evaluation.
- Converts schedule information created in Microsoft Projects or other software to Primavera P6 when necessary.
- Coordinate all safety-related specific activities as recommended by Corporate Safety Manager, including compliance with Safety Data Sheets, Personal Protective Equipment, protection/coordination of Health and Safety Plan and client/consumer requirements.
- Performs additional assignments per Division Manager’s request.

Education and Experience
- Preferred - Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent related field of study.
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience using P6 in Project Controls or Project Scheduling.
