Sterile Processing Tech Job Responsibilities:
As a Sterile Processing Tech, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest level of patient care by ensuring that all medical instruments are properly cleaned, inspected, and sterilized. Your responsibilities will include operating various types of sterilization equipment, such as cart washers, washer disinfectors, and steam sterilizers.
About the Role:
This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols for decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and storage of re-usable surgical instrumentation. You will also be responsible for preparing surgical case carts and responding to requests for instrumentation and supplies.
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is highly preferred. Prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred, but not required. CRCST or CSPDT certification is also desirable.
