The Saint Anselm College Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Director, Graduate Nursing Programs. Saint Anselm College (SAC), a private, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, seeks an experienced, visionary, and innovative nursing leader to provide direct oversight of the Jean School of Nursing and Health Science’s graduate nursing programs. The Director will support and inform the Jean School’s vision and strategy for graduate nursing, fostering an environment of educational excellence and inclusion. This position is responsible for leadership and excellence in graduate nursing program development, implementation, and evaluation, assuring quality and adherence to standards and requirements of relevant accreditation and certification bodies and other relevant curricular and program standards. The position provides operations leadership of graduate nursing programs, guidance to ranked and adjunct faculty, monitors student progression, and follows recent trends in graduate nursing education. As a member of the Jean School’s Executive Team, the Director will advise the dean on important graduate nursing matters and collaborate with the Jean School’s Executive Team, working across programs to implement the Jean School’s Strategic Plan 2024-2027.
The Director, Graduate Nursing Programs is an administrative position with a faculty appointment, reporting to the Dean of the Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences. This position does not supervise employees at this time, but provides advisement and input to faculty teaching across graduate nursing programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative
- Collaborate with Enrollment Department and school dean on matters involving student recruitment, applicant review, admissions, and transfers
- Collaborate with College Communications and Marketing and Enrollment to develop and review graduate nursing content on the Jean School’s website, e-brochures, etc.
- Oversee the administration of nursing graduate programs according to SAC and School bylaws and policies
- Collaborate with Institutional Research to obtain and evaluate market data when considering development of graduate nursing programs
- Ensure adherence to federal and state laws governing nursing education
- Lead all graduate nursing activities related to the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation, including site evaluations.
- Prepare and manage the Jean School graduate programs annual budget, ensuring adequate funding to meet graduate nursing goals
- Oversee the preparation of graduate nursing project and funding proposals
- Prepare reports as needed
- Serve as a member of the Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences Executive Team, creating shared vision and commitment to strategic planning and institutional priorities
- Serve on SAC committees based on interest and SAC policies
Educational
- Serve as graduate program faculty and graduate student advisor
- Acquire resources to promote excellence in online nursing education pedagogy, and the use of technology and simulation in graduate nursing education
- Collaborate with health system partners, Jean School dean and the SAC Academic Dean’s Office team to recruit and retain graduate ranked and adjunct faculty
- Assign and monitor faculty workload
- Collaborate with Jean School full time and adjunct faculty to plan, implement, evaluate, and revise graduate courses and curriculum as needed utilizing best practices in nursing pedagogy
- Ensure the mapping of AACN Essentials Level 2 core competencies, and system of tracking student achievement of these core competencies
- Lead the development of new nursing graduate programs based on available resources and market demand
- Work with graduate faculty to address student progression issues
- Plan and participate in new graduate student orientation and open houses
- Develop and oversee revisions of Graduate Nursing Student Handbook
- Provide leadership and support of graduate program faculty development
Miscellaneous
- Foster relationships with alumni and other relevant constituents
- Serve as a spokesperson for graduate nursing programs, and participate in public relations, nursing leadership collaboratives, and academic leadership activities at a local, state and national level.
- Create expectations and opportunities to enhance student success, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences
- Lead the creation of electronic data management systems for graduate nursing programs
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Doctoral preparation in nursing or related field from an accredited institution.
- Current RN license to practice as a registered professional in New Hampshire, or eligible for RN licensure.
- Academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, or Professor.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a formal academic leadership role in a collegiate nursing program.
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the graduate nursing level.
- Evidence of expertise in graduate nursing curriculum development.
- Evidence of experience implementing CCNE Level 2 competencies and best practices related to teaching and learning.
- Evidence of experience with program assessment, evaluation and/or accreditation.
- Evidence of experience fostering an inclusive faculty, staff and student learning and working environment.
Appointment
This administrative position will include a faculty appointment. It will be determined at the time of hire if the candidate is more suitable for a clinical or tenured faculty appointment. Rank and salary
will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
