We operate the largest residential program for formerly homeless women and children in the Sacramento region providing services 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, offering shelter, meals, childcare, and comprehensive support services, including Behavioral Health Services, Hands-on Employment Training, Career Education, and Family Services.

Position Overview
TITLE Senior Staff Accountant
SALARY From $80,000 To $85,000 Annually
CLASSIFICATION Full-Time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION On Site Only – Jackson Rd. Sacramento, CA
SCHEDULE Monday- Friday, day shift
About the Position…
The Senior Staff Accountant will assume operational responsibilities within the balance sheet, income statement and month-end close while assisting the Controller with other tasks as needed for Saint John’s Program and its related entities.
You’ll be responsible for…
- Manage bank & credit card reconciliations
- Maintain & reconcile all other balance sheet accounts and related schedules
- Manage month-end closing
- Assist with year-end audit preparation
- File sales tax
- Checking timecards and completing semi-monthly payroll
- Payroll corrections as needed
- Assist with grant invoicing
- Manage income statement review and assist with budgeting
- Manage modular home security deposit, rent and client payments
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Other duties may be assigned
You must have...
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 4 years or more of accounting and/or full-charge bookkeeping experience, preferably with non-profit.
- Fluent in English language (spoken and written)
- Proficient knowledge of email, copiers, fax, and internet
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
