The Graduate Student Life Manager (GSLM) will play an integral role in leadingstudent programming at University City, and supporting student organizations at the University City location to ensure the creation of a vibrant campus life. The GSLM will contribute to the development of a regular calendar of campus programming. The primary focus of the position is on student development and learning, within the context of building vibrant, inclusive communities. Additionally, under the direction of the Residence Life staff, this position will assist with the management of a residential area of approximately 150 students. Residence Life tasks will include the execution of Residence Life processes (move-in, move-out, walkthrough and building inspections to promote student safety and advocate for the physical care of residential spaces). This is a live-in, 10-month, part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Student Leadership & Activities:
Lead the development and execution of on and off-campus programming for the UC location.
Support student organizations on the UC campus including student organization budgets and all financial transactions. Provide event planning support to students and promote the creation and development of new student organizations.
Support the Funding Committee as well as the 60 student organizations on financial and operational policies and procedures; serve on the Student Activities Fee committee.
Develop and execute training for all student organization leaders inclusive of funding guidelines, university event planning guidelines, risk management awareness, Title IX and diversity, equity and inclusion programming.
Work with Student Leadership & Activities staff and campus partners on large-scale campus events such as Orientation, Family Day, Hawkapalooza and Student Appreciation Day (SAD) (Hawk Hill & University City).
Residence Life Service:
Assist in the maintenance of building key/access records and management of room inventory and assignments
Monitor physical condition of residence halls, working collaboratively with Facilities and Housekeeping staff, hall staff, and residents to report and follow-up on work orders, damages, and facility emergencies
In collaboration with Residence Life central office staff, assist with room changes, early arrivals, move-ins/move-outs, health and safety inspections, tour requests, and residence hall access for assigned residential areas
Maintain weekly office hours (5-10) to provide presence and support to the community.
Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with members of Student Life and others members of the University community to establish a positive campus environment in which students excel academically, spiritually, and personally.
Attend professional seminars, and/or conferences relevant to the responsibilities of the position. Participate in and contribute to the professional development efforts of the Division of Student Life.
Work respectfully with all staff, students, and parents regardless of their race, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, national origin, gender identity, age, or disability.
Communicate the Jesuit philosophy, Student Leadership & Activities and Residence Life departmental missions, and University policies to the residential community, parents, students, and personnel as appropriate.
Maintain a high degree of professionalism and serve as a positive role model to staff and students.
Serve on University and Student Life committees as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree and some prior Residence Life or Student Life experience.
Strong supervision, communication, and managerial skills are necessary.
Availability to live in the Living & Learning Commons at University City.
Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Saint Joseph’s University.
Preferred:
Concurrent enrollment in a Student Affairs (or closely related) graduate program
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Some evening/weekend hours in order to attend programs, training sessions, and meet with students.
While employed in this position, you are required to live in one of the University’s residence halls. As such, included in your employment offer is the use of a furnished apartment in a residence hall with utilities.

August 4, 2025 through May 31, 2026 (with some flexibility with start and end date)
