Position Summary and Qualifications :
Reporting to the Associate Director of Transfer Admission, the qualified candidate will join a dynamic and diverse staff to assist in all aspects of the admission and financial aid processes specifically for transfer students, to include but not limited to : managing recruitment through transfer college fairs and other events via off campus recruitment, counseling prospective students and families on academic programs as well as admission and financial aid policies, assisting in the planning of both on and off campus events, and the review of admission applications. The candidate will be required to establish and cultivate relationships with transfer counselors and other college constituents and prospective students and families through personal communication and correspondence and conduct presentations to prospective students and families regarding the university as well as admission and financial aid processes. The Transfer Admission Counselor will also support Admission Counselors and Assistant Directors of freshmen inquiries and applicants as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Maintain a transfer recruitment territory
- Conduct group presentations.
- Conduct one-on-one information sessions / interviews.
- Evaluation of applications for undergraduate admission in order to render a decision.
- Counsels and advises prospective students and parents about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, payment plans, indebtedness; individualizes information to the particular needs and situation of the student.
- Represent the University at off-campus corporate recruitment events.
- Represent the University at on-campus recruitment events, incoming student orientation events, and other appropriate events as designated.
- Personal communication, correspondence, and follow up with prospective students and families and school counselors.
- Documentation of necessary outreach, notes, follow-up needed, and correspondence in Slate (the University's Admission CRM)
- Build and cultivate relationships with personnel within community colleges related to the recruitment of transfer students.
- Provide assistance with transfer credit evaluation documentation in CRM and maintain a solid relationship with the University's Registrar's and Advising offices under the direction of the Registrar, Director of Advising, and Associate Director of Transfer Admission.
