Certified Medication Aide
We are now hiring 40-hour Medication Aides!
Hours Vary
Principal duties and responsibilities: * Sets up medication for residents and provides medication, under the direction and monitoring of a licensed nurse, and according to physician orders. May order/reorder medications.
- Records and documents all medication, treatment and care provided for residents.
- Assists residents with activities of daily living.
- Assists residents to and from dining facilities for meals. Delivers meal trays. May assist in bussing tables after meals. Assists with pouring coffee at meals.
- Gives and receives report at shift change, counts narcotics at that time.
- Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living.
- May help residents prepare for and exercise, as appropriate.
- Takes and records vital signs of residents.
- Prepares monthly summaries, may take off physician orders and prepares chart for new residents.
- Responds to resident calls and requests.
- May launder resident’s personal clothing and linens.
- Communicates with Director of Resident Care, licensed nurse, family or responsible party as necessary.
- Calls for emergency assistance (911) for residents and/or staff as deemed necessary.
- Cleans various areas of the facility, such as medicine room, treatment room, and as needed, resident apartments, public restrooms, etc.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities: * Proof of current state registry as a Medication Aid 40 required in order to be able to set up medications, administer medications, take vital signs, etc. and must be able to read and write at a level typically acquired through completion of high school.
