Job Description
Duties and Tasks:
- Perform all accounts receivable functions including but not limited to
- Handle incoming wires and payments
- Post student payments pertaining to admission deposits
- Process payment refunds, insufficient funds, and chargeback disputes
- Handle departmental accounts receivable functions
- Advise students and families on financial options to resolve past due balances in person, via email and by phone
- Provide exemplary customer service and remain student focused at all times.
- Answer phone calls and emails promptly and courteously. Answer voicemail the same day the message is received.
- Diligently complete outreach efforts on past due balances
- Support recruitment and retention efforts by collaborating across departments to resolve past due balance
- Aid in the timely posting of account receivable functions
- Process departmental mail and receipt check payments
- Process scholarship payments
- Process and print ID card requests
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma. Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.
- Two years' experience in cashiering, collections, and/or customer service.
- Experience with Ellucian Colleague Cbord/ Odyssey PCS, Official Payments Portal, Banking Institution
- Proficiency with MS office
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Superior organizational skills; ability to execute multiple objectives concurrently.
- Strong knowledge of federal and/or state aid regulations.
- Ability to engage with a variety of constituents (current students, alumni, faculty, etc.) from many different cultural backgrounds.
- Proven customer service experience, and experience involving financial aid, college admissions, and cashiering; or an equivalent combination of education, customer service training and experience.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to work collegially and collaboratively within a team, and able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
- Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
