Starting Salary: $66,330 - $67,663.23
Position Summary:
Perform the duties required to provide administrative and financial support.
Essential Functions:
- Assist and maintain the Chief’s calendar where applicable
- Provide and/or create documents, handbooks, forms, etc. at the direction of the Chief
- Supervise day and evening support
- Coordinate personnel/certification and appointments
- Monitor and maintain department budgets
- Supervise data collection, maintenance, and update
- Responsible for administrative support for major reports
- Oversee requisition preparation
- Perform payroll for full-time staff and supervise payroll for part-time staff
- Maintain attendance reporting (time) for all department staff
- Maintain communication between clerical staff and administrative staff
- Supervise the maintenance of records for payroll and personnel
- Assist with recruitment of staff where applicable
- Process and coordinate leave of absence paperwork
- Coordinate and chair staff meetings where applicable
- Develop procedures for clarification of procedures
- Supervise inventories
- Assist with telephone calls and walk-in applicants
- Compose, type, and file memos and other written communication as directed
- Maintain and update administration on the availability and completion of paperwork
- Assist with other departmental staff tasks, as requested and/or approved by the Chief
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written or oral form
- Ability to effectively work and interact with others
- Strong technology and systems ability and ability to train and grasp new technology systems
- Proficient typing skills
- Strong command of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain positive demeanor and professionalism and build relationships
Experience:
- Requires broad knowledge of discipline equivalent to a complete college or university education
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds
- Must possess the shysica; stamina to maintain an 8-hour workday with potential evening/weekend programming needs within those 8 hours as deemed necessary
- Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree
Working Conditions and Environment:
- Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environment
- Very limited or no exposure to physical risk
