Responsibilities: The Saint Louis Zoo is seeking dynamic, positive and knowledgeable candidates with great leadership skills and commitment to providing exceptional guest service to join our Attractions department. Support the Attractions department by managing the daily office functions for the department. . Responsible for the onboarding and scheduling process for all Attractions staff. Responsible for maintaining and updating employee and department files. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to training of attraction's supervisors and staff on values, policies and procedures, accommodating Zoo departmental requests for special event needs (tours, rentals, VIPs, meetings), working with Zoo staff to maintain the expected high level of guest service. Will be responsible for at least one shift per week in the field of the Attractions department as manager on duty. Must be in alignment with the Zoo’s core values and three keys.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. At least three (3) years of management experience in a related field with emphasis on guest service required. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach individuals and build a team environment. The ability to utilize necessary technology and adapt to changing technological advancements required to support the operation. Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Good organizational skills and time-management skills required. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions, and must be able to stand for several hours at a time. Must be willing to have flexible work schedule which may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Schedules revolve around Zoo operating hours that change seasonally and various event related business demands.
All successful candidates for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check and a drug test. As this is a safety-sensitive role, a negative drug test result is mandatory. The drug test screens for five substances, including marijuana.
