What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nurse position at Saint Luke School?
Saint Luke Catholic School is seeking a registered nurse. The primary function is to provide clinical assistance to the school community during school hours for the safety and wellbeing of the students. The right candidate should be a practicing Catholic with a joyful, hardworking personality that is able to handle the daily rigors of a school-day. An RN would be ideal, but a Certified Nurses Assistants (CNA) or Medical Assistants (MA) are welcome to apply. The School Nurse is responsible for providing care to students, staff, and faculty, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. This role involves administering first aid, conducting health assessments, and maintaining accurate medical records in accordance with diocesan policies and procedures, as well as the State of Virginia. The nurse is also responsible for promoting wellness education, providing emergency care, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support the physical and emotional well-being of the school community. Additionally, the School Nurse upholds the values and teachings of the Catholic faith, integrating compassion and respect for all individuals in their care.
