Job Title: Nursery Director
Location: St. Mary's Anglican Catholic Church, 2290 S Clayton St., Denver, CO 80210.

Weekly Schedule:
- Tuesday: 6:00-8:00 PM
- Thursday: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:45 AM – 10:15 AM, 12:15-1 PM
Overview:
St. Mary's Anglican Catholic Church is seeking a man or woman who feels particularly called to teach children aged 2 to 6 years old. This person will be a dedicated and compassionate worker who provides spiritual formation, ensures the safety and well-being of the children, and manages one or two volunteers. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about early childhood spiritual development, understands the principles of brain development in young children, can deliver age-appropriate teaching, and desires to join the community at St. Mary’s.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spiritual Formation: Implement and execute assigned curriculum to facilitate the spiritual growth of children during designated times. Emphasize memorization of psalms and foundational Christian teachings.
- Child Supervision: Oversee and engage with children aged 2 to 6 during nursery hours, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment.
- Volunteer Management: Lead and coordinate a very small team of volunteers, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain a high standard of care and instruction.
- Safety and Well-being: Maintain a secure environment by adhering to child safety protocols, conducting regular safety checks, and ensuring all activities are age-appropriate.
- Budget Management: Manage a modest budget allocated for nursery supplies, ensuring necessary materials are available and expenditures are documented.
- Service Integration: Escort children to the main service for communion at the appropriate time, facilitating a seamless transition and participation.
- Bring the children down for a blessing: Each Sunday, the children will be brought to the nursery at 9:45 AM (15 minutes after the start of mass). At 10:15 AM, the Nursery Director will escort the children back to the mass, bringing them to their parents so they can either receive communion or a blessing from the priest. Following this, the Nursery Director is expected to remain for the remainder of the mass and receive communion themselves.
- Thursday Night Attendance: The Nursery Director shall attend Thursday night Evening Prayer and potluck, starting at 6 PM, prior to teaching the children from 7-8PM.
- Communicate with Parents: Text parents from the nursery in difficult situations.
Hours and Compensation:
- Hours: 17/mo.
- Compensation: $50/hr
Additional Details:
- After six months, a performance-based increase in pay will be awarded ($1,000/month), with no additional hours required. Clear performance indicators will be discussed during the interview.
- As the church grows, this role is expected to transition into a full-time, salaried position with a market-competitive salary.
- All applicants must be able to pass a background check before being hired.
- Despite the local laws, St. Mary’s does not permit staff drug usage.
Qualifications:
- A practicing, confirmed Catholic (i.e., Anglican, Roman, or Orthodox).

- Demonstrated experience in early childhood education or children's ministry, particularly with ages 2 to 6.
- Strong understanding of historical Christian teachings, with the ability to impart spiritual lessons to young children.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing volunteers preferred.
- Commitment to child safety and well-being, including knowledge of best practices in childcare.
- Ability to manage a small budget effectively.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- A desire to join and actively participate in the life and ministry of St. Mary’s Anglican Catholic Church.
