Description
In this Regional Development Director - Remote role, you will build meaningful, long-term relationships between benefactors and Saint Mary’s College within a designated region of the United States. Using your proven relationship skills, you will also work closely with academic leaders and Development colleagues to identify, cultivate, steward and secure leadership-level philanthropic gifts of $25,000 to support the College's priorities.
The Regional Development Director will implement the College’s fundraising strategy as it relates to identification, cultivation and solicitation of gifts of $25,000 that joins together the philanthropic interests of donors with the priorities and needs of the College and manage a portfolio of approximately 150 high-level prospects including: setting and meeting individual annual giving and major gift objectives, implementing donor-centric philanthropic plans, and involving assigned prospects in the mission and strategic priorities at Saint Mary's College.
The Regional Development Director will develop significant long-term relationships with current and future benefactors whose resources will be integral to implementation of the strategic priorities at Saint Mary's College. This position will have extensive travel up to 50% in designated regions to develop donor relationships across the country, promote the College’s gift planning program, and create and edit written materials for prospective donors, President and volunteers for high level engagement with key prospects.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Five years of fundraising experience with demonstrated success in cultivating and soliciting significant gifts; or track record of closing complex agreements with C-Suite level of clients.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills; typically evidenced by experience with complex projects from concept to execution.
- Excellent critical listening skills and relationship building skills.
- Proven ability to set priorities and map direction on concurrent fronts.
- Strong work ethic and proven experience in achieving goals in prior positions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience using a C onstituent R e lationship Management (CRM) system to manage workflow .
Preferred Qualifications
- Effective major gifts fundraiser experience preferably in higher education.
- Basic understanding of relevant tax and estate law and planned giving mechanisms
- Live within 3-4 hours driving distance of Saint Mary’s College
