Development Associate or Director – Women’s Care Center, South Bend/Elkhart, IN
Women's Care Center is the nation's largest pregnancy resource center. Founded by a Catholic theologian in 1984, this organization now serves 40,000 women annually from 37 centers in 12 states. Our mission is to help pregnant women choose life for their babies, have healthier pregnancies, become better parents, and take first steps to self-sufficiency.
To help advance our mission, we are seeking a Development Associate or Director to garner support in the local community for our Saint Joseph and Elkhart County centers.
- Cultivate a Broad Base of Community Support: Research and build a robust base of supporters by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with potential donors to grow the donor base for the local center and help donors ‘move up the pyramid.’
- Lead a Team of Connectors: Identify, inspire, and lead a group of influential individuals who can contribute to the mission personally and connect others to the organization.
- Plan the Luxury Bingo Event: Plan and execute all aspects of the Luxury Bingo event. Solicit sponsorships and invitations to broaden the event’s reach and impact.
- Nurture Current Donors: Build stronger relationships with existing donors to deepen their connection to Women’s Care Center.
- Manage donor relationships with an entrepreneurial mindset, working collaboratively with the client care team and national support team.
- Establish and maintain an organized system to manage all aspects of your role.
- Prepare and execute donor communications, including appeal letters, mailings, thank-you notes, tax receipts, and event materials with high attention to detail.
- Interview clients to gather compelling stories for use in donor engagement materials.
- Recruit, coordinate, and manage volunteers to support organizational initiatives.
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Preferred background in sales or marketing. Passion, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn are highly valued—training is provided.
- Strong relationship-building skills with diverse individuals and groups.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of taking initiative.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
